PupPak-v1.0.iso for cd/usb/hdd 6 puppies + more!

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ PupPak-v1.0!$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$4

PupPak-v1.0 is my attempt to put together some neat Puppy Linux
variations that will boot from cd, usb, and hdd.

Included these Puppies

BrowserLinux-0909

The Newest 4.3 beta Official Puppy

LighthousePuppy-4.4.2-d

ShepherdPuppy-08-03-09

RescuePup-beta

and PupFlux-4.21

I also included some other Goodies too

kolibri Linux

Plop bootmanager

and Netbootcd-3.1.2

Download is in ISO format, but PupPak-v1.0 is setup to run from isolinux cd
syslinux fat32 usb and grub ext2/3 usb or hdd

all config files are included
syslinux.cfg for fat32 usb
isolinux.cfg for isolinux cd
grub menu.lst for ext2/3 usb or hdd

Of course, it has a nice graphical menu for isolinux/syslinux too
DO NOT TRY TO USE Unetbootin to install to usb
it won't work and Unetbootin has an older syslinux.
Also, do not use the puppy(s) syslinux either, as they all use an older syslinux!

You will find I have included the newer syslinux/syslinux.exe in the boot/syslinux folder
on the iso
Simply boot off the iso-burned-to-cd-r, cd into the boot/syslinux folder
on the iso
and install syslinux from there.
Example, usb is designated as sdb1 by puppy
code# cd /mnt/sdb1/boot/syslinux

code# ./syslinux -sf /dev/sdb1

to install everything from running cd to usb or hdd
mount the cd drive with puppy drive mounter
mount the usb or hd partition you want to install to
open a terminal
code# cp -a /mnt/sr0/* /mnt/sdb1
or for hd
code# cp -a /mnt/sr0/* /mnt/sda1

then, if syslinux/grub is already installed your good to go

The puppies won't install as normal, cause their all in their own folders, except LightHouse
which should install as normal
To install any of the others, it will ask you to find the vmlinuz/initrd.gz/pup.sfs, so just navigate thru
the filemanager till you find the PupPak-v1.0 cd/usb and contimue install.

any questions, please post
Enjoy!

hello, I did. Just hour ago I made cd-iso and now I am testing. I am impressed. I was trying different linux distributions about 5 years and had switched to puppy from version 1.03 and still a great fan of all puppy distros. Your pup-pak is that what I needed. I didnt check all possibilities of your cd-iso, just lounched first puppy on the list as I was feeling uncomfortable about time limit...I have to read all and decide what to choose and was not sure what will happen if count down will finish. But idea to put on 1 cd 6 distros is great. Thinking to have DVD with even more distros packed together...to have all flavours of puppy, well maybe 15 or so...
I must check how you made this CD ISO and try to make DVD ISO...just my first idea
Anyway thanks a lot for this very useful compilation

thanks for checking it out

er...I should update it as 4.3 is out now....

to make a dvd or add different puppies
I included a script in boot folder
make_iso.sh
that will create the iso (cd/dvd) for you
some puppies will not work this way
thats why Lighthouse puppy is not in its own folder
some work great together off usb, but not cd
and vice-versa

to get it all together, I run them from usb and also make iso
images, which I run thru qemu to verify they boot

the menus are basic and can be used for almost any puppy
just look st the puppy isolinux.cfg that you wanna add
and add to the isolinux/syslinux.cfg in mine

rememebr all boot menu pics must be png and 640x480
