Unhappy Problem with sound in Lucid Puppy 5.2.5

I use earphones as the sound device. Till yesterday it was working properly. But when in started Puppy today for the first time and played a movie there was no sound. I played it in GNOME MPlayer as well as VLC, there was no sound. I tried the ALSA Config and tried the same options to configure which i used for the first time while configuring the sound, but i showed an error at last, something like "no such device". Please suggest some solution.
