modprobe cannot find usb-ohci.ko
Relevant hardware: desktop case with one pci card installed. The card is a PCMCIA reader/writer (like a laptop) with a Verizon Wireless broadband PC Card inserted.
Wanting to upgrade Puppy 2.01 to 2.14 I burned a 2.14 live cd and booted. I can NOT make the usb-ohci driver module load with modprobe, neither from the command line or at the end of /etc/rc.d/rc.modules. Error is usb-ohci.ko not found. It's in xdrv_214.sfs. I have copied it from the sfs file to the same directory in Puppy's /lib directory, and tried mounting xdrv_214.sfs to no avail. Why can't modprobe see the module? Does it need to be in some list? Perhaps I should use insmod? It didn't work on Puppy 1.0.8 nor on Puppy 2.10+, but it works automatically on 2.01! |
there is more technical support available on the main Puppy Forum

Thanks! I'll look some more there now that summer seems to have begun.
