Is it necessary to update 5.2?

I installed 5.2 Lucid on an older IBM A31 laptop and it is a fun little desktop to play with and use but I can't quite figure out if there is a way to update the packages that are installed....or if its even necessary. Is it something I need to even worry about?

After doing some reading I can't quite put my finger on the process if it exists....I'm new to using Puppy so I'm not in the know.

If it ain't broken, don't fix it .

Update packages individually if you feel like than upgrading the base system.

Puppy - in general - has no automated update procedure.

Browsers and email clients can be updated through their update functions.

For other applications check here http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/index.php?f=63 if you feel the need for it.

Or check for newer pets on particular applications here http://wellminded.com/puppy/pupsearch.html
