HP AIO printer

i am new to linux, using puppy 4.1, trying to get my wireless AIO to work. i have installed cups, downloaded the hp printer driver from the pet package in puppy, my printer is listed in the driver section. i do not know how to configure printer so puppy will recognize it over my network. do i need to use the hplip from hp website? not really trying to sound stupid, but i seem to be good at it these days. i guess i need a step by step tutorial. thanks
