How to connect to secure wireless network?
 

Puppy worked very well for me booting off my USB Flash drive and saved info needed to reconnect to my wireless network when it was unsecured. After I changed it to WPA-TSK and set up password to access it, I can't access it under Puppy. I was able to set up connections under Kubuntu by adding KnetworkManager which allow me to change the log in info to WPA and input a password. How can I do this under Puppy?

I believe that wpa-supplicant isn't included in Puppy, so if you need that then you'll need to search http://dotpups.de/ and the man Puppy forum to see if there's a dotpup for it.

However, if you happen to have one of the Ralink chipsets, the Linux driver for the Ralink includes WPA support natively (I know it works with the RT2570 and RT73 USB chipsets), so a little time searching the main forum may pay off.

I have an atheros chipset I believe. I know I always hooked my wireless up through ath0. I downloaded wpa supplicant to my USB flash drive and the other two programs I found under wireless tools. (Kismet and APD host daemon) I hope I can find instructions on how to open these under Puppy and set them up to try see if they solve my problem. Using Linux is very new to me. One of the things I really liked about Puppy was it ran well as it loaded and the only things I had to do was use the wireless tool to connect and then add the bookmarks I needed to surf my favorite sites under Firefox. Thus I haven't developed any skills on adding programs or fixing anything.

Pegazuz, ISTR seeing a report on the main Puppy forum that someone has WPA working using an Atheros chipset.

Adding stuff to Puppy is pretty easy, BTW, the package management is being enhanced all the time, and there are a lot of .pup and .pet packages now that simply install with a couple clicks.

Yes, Puppy 2.14 network wizard has support for WPA.
