Getting a minimal install of Puppy 525
Hello,
I created a remaster CD of Puppy, in which I have removed a few of the apps I won't use. Works great. But, I want to create a rescue CD with a very light desktop with the intention of creating a rescue CD, somewhat similar to System Rescue CD. I need to know what pre installed apps I can remove safely, and any additional apps to install to create a rescue/forensics cd. I have installed elinks, but have trouble getting around in it. Since i am still a noob, I would like to put in some documentation or howto's with the remaster. Thank you for your advice and assistance I am still a noob, but have tried a lot of things Linux |
Not sure what forensic apps to load into a remastered Puppy 5.25. Your query might be better answered at http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/index.php
For manually making a new iso in Puppy http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=52598 in case you did not know of the thread. |

(1) Was looking for more apps to remove without damaging puppy. (2) the forensics part, I'm not sure I will ever be ready for without taking a series of college courses. thanks for your input. |
No need to reinvent the wheel. There are many good and smaller Puppies available. Some are here:

Much success |
