Firefox 3.0.10 won't render Japanese characters on livemocha.com How do I fix this?

Hello,

I started using livemocha.com yesterday, and I discovered the browser won't render Japanese characters.

I Googled the problem and tried making the adjustments but the changes only changed the characters to diamonds or question marks, I've also tried running Firefox under wine, along with opera, I also tried Chrome but it won't work with the latest puppy linux wine pet which seems to be 1.1.23.

Current setting are:

Character Encoding -> Auto-detect -> Universal

You probably just need to use a decent Unicode font that covers the Japanese character selection. If you don't have any installed already, I'd start with the freefonts. They're probably available for installation through your distribution's package manager.

Then make sure your browser is configured to use one of them as the default (at least for Japanese). The settings are in the "content" tab of the Firefox preferences.
