bulletproof Puppy
Hi,
I have a Frugal Puppy Linux 3.01 installation. How can I make it "bulletproof", so that even if there is a power fail at any time, or a user/application accidentially removes all files Puppy will reboot next time without missing any files. I know, I could achieve this by using the boot option "pfix=ram", but then Puppy wont load the pup_save.2fs files. My Puppy is currently installed on /dev/hda2 and this is mounted to /initrd/mnt/dev_save. Unfortunately a read-only remount "mount -o -remount,ro /dev/hda1 /initrd/mnt/dev_save" fails. Is there a way to let Puppy read the pup_save.2fs files while booting but don't have write access to /dev/hda1 ? Greets nilix |
Heh, just start making regular backups.

bullet proof Puppy
This wont help for a system that has to run fully unattended.
