xlib: cursor fonts guaranteed?

Are the cursor fonts defined in my cursorfont.h file guaranteed for all installations of X11? Or are they platform dependent?

For any *working* X installation, the basic cursor fonts should be present -those in 'defaults', 'redglass' and 'whiteglass'at least.
