Cool Writing code for picture management (slide show with varying times for each pic.)

I bought an Asus Eee and I want to create a slide show that repeats certain pictures more than once and would like to control it thru code. total newbie who bought a few books. The images don't have to be jpg but that would be wonderful. I realize it may not be a cut and dry answer but can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks all, Rich

Please be a bit more clear, do you want a single image viewing application that contains a slideshow feature with a special sort order?

If this is the case, then simply find a image viewer you would like, then modify the code to allow for the new sort order, or to implement a new viewing option. This would save you lots of time if all you want is a special viewing option.

Cool

Yes that is the case. Someone recommended ImageMagick which looks like it might be what the doc ordered.
