Cool Writing BIOS

Hello,

I would like to write BIOS for my Embedded device.
My embedded device includes a linux operating system.
OS is kept in NVRAM in compressed state. So my
BIOS should decompress the OS from the NVRAM
and load into the RAM. Can I get some sample codings
for BIOS particularly for compressing and decompressing
the OS and loading it into the RAM.

Linux is already compresed(if you had made it with make bzImage) and will decompress itself into ram once loaded from the disk/nvram
Your job is probably to make a boot loader like lilo/grub.
