wifi Card does not capture packets in promiscuous mode

Hi
I am using libpcap library to capture packets of my wifi card(DWL-G122) which according to my knowledge supports promiscuous mode and the log file also shows that the card is going in promiscuous mode but card in not capturing pakcets that are nto destined to it. i am using fedora 7

1. How do you know your card supports promiscuous mode?

2. Do you have your card set to the correct channel and BSSID (essid)?

3. Are you trying to capture packets on an ad-hoc network or an infrastructure network?

First I have seen the log file it shows card is in promiscuous mode and i also searched my card on net for promiscuous mode.
I am working in ad hoc mode
Nodes are in same essid
