Why I don't have cc and gcc in my redhat7.2

Is the gcc or cc install by default when we install our redhat. If yes why is my gcc or cc is not working? If no, how can I install a cc and gcc compiler in my redhat. Thanks

Frankly, I couldn't tell you :} whether or not it is
installed by default. To check the status you could use

"rpm -qa | grep -i gcc"

and if it's not, you'll have to find what CD it's on and
manually install it using rpm :}

I didn't fiddle with blueCap in month, and my CD's are at home ...
so sorry, can't give you more detailed infos...

"man rpm" for an overview ;)

Cheers,
Tink

if you select to install development during installation gcc will be selected to install.

if you don't selected development most probably you may not be able to install gcc by rpm since it produce some dependancy problem. gcc needs some libs also. You also install all unsatisfied rpms also
