where to start ? from vb6 cAN DO BASH

Friends,

I wish to make modest gui programs.
I have experience of vb6 on windows and I wonder what might be the linux equivalent.
I am imagining a gui
where on can pass values (ie path , fileName ) via text boxes and radio buttons
to a bash .sh

thanks

Any one of the several 'dialog' programs, like kdialog, zenity, Xdialog or gtkdialog.

WHY ?

why would you want a gui to type in text into the terminal ?

just write a script an run it

http://gambas.sourceforge.net/en/main.html

there are also a view other Basic (dialect) compilers for Linux
