what language after visual basic?
hi all, i'm new to linux, and am wondering what language would be best to start learning as i have an humble background in html, and, visual basic 6. thx for any response.
depends what you're after really. if you want a straight up big ass language, C++ and Java are ready and waiting. if you want to go towards the potentially more system based side of things, you might prefer Perl or Python, which can act suprisingly "individual" at times, and not always as translatable in terms of generic skills. All horses for courses really. Me, I love perl....
