What does this gcc error message mean?

Hi,

I get the following rather uniformative (to me) error message:

[hodgkinson@hep1 EFlowAnalysis]$ gmake
Compiling EFlowCompiledMacros.cc
Compiling EFlowProcessorApril05.cc
Running rootcint
Compiling EFlowAnalysisCint.cc

cc1plus: Cannot allocate 150606024 bytes after allocating 13545472 bytes
gmake: *** [/home/hodgkinson/EFlowAnalysis/tmp/objects/EFlowAnalysisCint.o] Error 1

What does it mean exactly? The code compiles ok on other computers and this problem only appeared yesterday for this particular computer.

Thanks,

Mark

Code:
# ulimit -a

data seg size (kbytes, -d) unlimited
file size (blocks, -f) unlimited
max locked memory (kbytes, -l) 4
max memory size (kbytes, -m) unlimited
open files (-n) 1024
pipe size (512 bytes, -p) 8
stack size (kbytes, -s) 10240
cpu time (seconds, -t) unlimited

well in the end we reinstalled linux (since we had a few other odd behaviours on this machine) and now it works fine! I thought I had left this all behind with windows
