what do i look at for ubuntu programing


hi,

i am new to linux only used it for about 2 months and i have just moved to ubuntu from suse. i would like to start to learn how to program in linux. i learn how to make software in windows using delfi but i dont know how to do it in linux or ware to look and what i should know befor even attempting to learn.

Start getting help from HOWTO's in www.tldp.org
Use can use the following programming languages:
C gcc
C++ g++
Python
PERL
JAVA gcj
LAMP ( Linux Apache MySQL PHP )
Pascal
Fortran
and many more
just do search google.

If your from this Windows world, i recommend this book: http://www.catb.org/~esr/writings/taoup/html/ (free online version).

Anyways, i would say the best language to learn would be C, because most things are programed in it, it makes a good ground language to know.
