Webpage input that creates Lead in back end ASP.NET server

I have the need to collect customer information from a webpage and pass the information into our back end Microsoft CRM application as a Lead. I am looking for a top level suggestion of what is the best way (and most secure) to pass the data from the website to the back end server. I have just setup a new CentOS 5.3 apache webserver that is available to the outside world. The Microsoft CRM environment is ASP.NET which I am versed in dealing with, but I need some help in connecting the two. If I have not given enough information to even begin providing suggestions, please advise what else you need.

To interact with your crm you could just do a direct database connection or passing data to a soap webservice page on your CRM. though I think you if the two servers are on the same network or VP then you could do something fancy with mono to display a page from your CRM.

If you need to do this fast then I would cheat and create a website for getting your leads with all the user access etc using a CMS that your familiar with, storing leads in your own database. then have your CRM pull data from your database or data file.

I think your second suggestion would be the best, and likely the most secure approach. I wouldn't be real time, but it doesn't need to be.

Thanks

Being new to the Linux and mySQL environment, do you have an opinion on what is the best approach to writing the lead data to a mySQL table? I have been studying servlets which I believe will require Tomcat to be installed on my apache server. Is there something else you would recommend?

Eh if your not confident doing direct queries to the database perhaps you should get a hand from other developers at your company.

The way i would go about it is to use PHP and using Joomla an (open source CMS) then just directly query the database.

Best to go for what you know to start with, you can always refactor later.
