Using IHC building control with Linux
Hello all!
Does anyone out there know how to use IHC building automation systems with Linux?
IHC is a modular system designed to control all aspects of a building, like heating, lighting and such, including timer control. So a building fully equipped with IHC can shut down individual rooms when they're not in use, which is a great energy saver.
The system is a low-budget version of a true CTS system, where you can program a room to a certain temperature and then see what the temperature actually is. The system can't do that - it has no information on the actual state of the room, it just turns things on and off or simply down. The system is connected through a RS232 bus to a control PC, and it's this PC that lacks the software.
Only problem is, the Windows based control software is delayed to a point where no-one seems to know the actual release date. So does anyone out there know how to make a usable desktop system for IHC? Be it on Linux or otherwise, that doesn't matter.
Best regards
