tgrep2 (for Penn Treebank). Error while converting .crp to .t2c

I got a file called wsj_mrg.crp which is encoded in the old tgrep .crp format. I want to convert it to .t2c format to work with it using tgrep2. Heres what I did and what the shell returned:
Code:
ubuntu:~/Desktop/tgrep/TGrep2> tgrep2 -p wsj_mrg.crp wsj_mrg.t2c

ERROR: Tree 1 doesn't start with (.
Thanks in advance.

The size of the file is 88 MB and 32 MB in compressed form. I tried uploading it but I keep getting error about 10 seconds after the upload begins. This is probably because the size of the file is too big.
