Hello and welcome to LinuxQuestions,

Congratulations on posting such a complete post as your first! What you need can be done in several ways, for example using Bash and expect or using Python and pexpect. What will not happen is that we will write it for you if that's what you're asking at the end of your post. You will learn a lot more if you do it yourself. You'll need to put in the work and when you encounter errors you cannot fix yourself, that's when you turn to us. If you don't have any experience with scripting have a look at these:
Bash Guide for Beginners
Advanced Bash Scripting Guide
expect
Dive into Python
pexpect

Looking forward to your participation in the forums. Have fun with Linux.

Kind regards,

Eric

Hi,

You start at the beginning. Make a choice first on which language you'll be using. Bash and Python are both pretty easy to start. I've always used Bash and it got the job done. Started learning Python about 5 or 6 months ago and love it all the way. But that's only my personal experience. In order for you to be able to make a choice you'll need to read some of the links I provided to get a first idea. Then start at the beginning. When you're stuck you turn to LQ for answers/advice/suggestions. You've been doing your job the same way for some time so keep doing it the same way while learning what you need to change the way you do it. You'll soon enough get to a point where you can automate parts of the work.

Kind regards,

Eric

Hi,

De rien! Just hang in there when you pick up learning again. It's worth it for sure.

Kind regards,

Eric
