SuSE 9.1 and wxPython 2.5.x

Hi,
Has anyone been able to get wxPython 2.5.x to work in SuSE 9.1? I'm running SuSE 9.1 and I'm trying to help develop a program that requires wxPython 2.5.1.5 or greater. The SuSE software repository only has wxPython 2.4.2.4 as far as I could see. I've been to www.wxPython.org, and downloaded this, built and installed it, but I get runtime errors when running the app. I've also tried this and again, it compiles and can be installed but the application run with this RPM produces runtime errors.

Do I need to install the latest (2.3.4) version of Python? If so, could someone point me to a tarball/RPM that I can compile on SuSE. I tried this
but it requires a expat-devel RPM that I can't find in SuSE's software repository.

Yes, from speaking with the main developer, this program can be run successfully on other Linux distros, and I do know that it runs on Mac OS X.

Thanks,

Jason Mazzotta
