subversion backwards compatibility

Hi. I've got a work project where our client programs and server are Subversion 1.6. But I want to work from another box where I have a 1.8 client. Will this create any problems?

Already, the 1.8 client told me I need to run svn upgrade to upgrade my working copy to newer metadata, or it won't let me update. I don't mind running the command, but I'm wondering if I'm going to have trouble interacting with the server in any way, or create any problems for other team members.

Subversion release notes on 1.7 and 1.8 seem to provide pretty good assurance that this won't be a problem, though I will not be able to use all new features from 1.7 and 1.8.

Quote:
Older clients and servers interoperate transparently with 1.8 servers and clients. However, some of the new 1.8 features may not be available unless both client and server are the latest version. There are also cases where a new feature will work but will run less efficiently if the client is new and the server old.
