Both codes work well!
The filesearch code really rocks: it is five times faster than "grep -F" on a 400k file with 7820 lines.
So, these codes are just what I need, thank you!
P.S.: I had some trouble compiling the code on FreeBSD: the stdint.h file was not on the system, so I had to replace that with inttypes.h. I wonder if this change may cause any troubles on the long run?
Anyway, my redirector script is already using your code, and it works well.
