nah, good question! rhide on dos is nice so far, but lack of more ttys and manpages gets me struggling.

well...

i downloaded the 1.5 sources "rhide-1.5.tar.gz" along with a tvision source "rhtvision_2.2.1-1.tar.gz".

first compiled and installed the tvision stuff. all fine.

but if i then want to ./configure the rhide i got this error:

Code:
marquisor@slack333:~/rhide-1.5$ ./configure
checking for gcc... gcc
checking for C compiler default output... a.out
checking whether the C compiler works... yes
checking whether we are cross compiling... no
checking for executable suffix...
checking for object suffix... o
checking whether we are using the GNU C compiler... yes
checking whether gcc accepts -g... yes
checking build system type... i686-pc-linux
checking host system type... i686-pc-linux
checking for Turbo Vision header files... /home/marquisor/rhide-1.5/../tvision/include
checking for Turbo Vision libraray... no
configure: error: Could not find Turbo Vision libraray.
Please give me a hint by setting the variable TVOBJ
what now?

Probably have a look at this Turbo Vision port to GCC for starters. Looks like you need to have this installed as a dependency for RHIDE.

well, that is exactly where i went to sourceforge from! which had a 2.2.1 version up then. and that compiled and installed with "make install" all fine w/o errors. maybe it did not install TVOBJ environment variable?! but why?!

EDIT:
Now also tried 2.0.3 src and got Error 1 at making. ./configure was fine. maybe too old for newer GCC
