Shared memory

Hello,

There are several different implementations for shared memory, shm_open() for BSD(??) or shmget() for System V. Which one is common and popular in linux?

Thank you.

Hi -

In my experience, the SysV IPCs ("shmget()" and friends) tend to be the most prevalent. They're also stabile, robust and dependable (IMHO).

I've used them on HP-UX, AIX, Solaris ... and Linux ... with no problems.

'Hope that helps .. PSM
