Hi Friends,
I am fairly new to Unix/Shell Scripting & I need your help urgently.
Since I am new to this forum & unix, I had posted this thread in the newbie forum (
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...-daily-934622/), but since I didn't get a satisfactory reply there till now, I find this section more relevant to post this query & with an anticiaption that I would get quick & proper help from the experts around here.
Query :
I want to setup a cron that will transfer a file from one unix server to another through FTP everyday at 5 PM (system time).
ie. in a live production environment, it is basically transferring a file from a production box to a development box via FTP).
I understand from my preliminary research that if I have a script to do the FTP transfer, then that could be called using cron. But the point is I want to know how to have a shell script done for a FTP transfer without user intervention when it runs.
Can anyone help me with this please ?
Thanks in advance.
