segmentation fault???

Hi everyone ,I am faced with a very serious problem
i.e whenever I compile my c++ code (containing poiinters )on Vi editorthen most of the time I receive an error message of segmentation fault,Sometimes I get it corrected but sometimes I have to change the code
Please help me with this.

if u can plz specify a good debugger to use on my C++ programs

GDB is a great debugger once you get used to using it. DDD is a great front end for it.

As far as your segmentation fault, I'm pretty positive it has nothing to do with Vi. A segmentation fault pretty much means somewhere your accessing some memory you have no business attempting to access. Typically this means you went out of bounds on an array or tried to reference a pointer that was either null or uninitialized.

Try DDD an easy to use frontend to gdb
