screensaver to switch user to guest instead of locking screen
I'm using a computer with potential multiple guests/users. I have some my own personal settings I don't want interfered with, but I don't want to lock people off the computer when I leave the keyboard and I don't want to manually log off every time either.
I want a normal screen-saver, except instead of user input bringing up the password box, it needs to switch to an already running guest X terminal. Of course, I still want to be able to switch to my own X terminal(which is still automatically locked), via good old fashioned ctrl-alt-F7. And it would be nice if the screen-saver still has the visual effects, but that could come later I guess. I'm running Kubuntu(kde). I see an option to automatically lock the screen, but alas nothing to switch X terminals. P.S. And I'll probably want a failsafe too. That is if the guest X terminal is'nt running already then launch it. |
Have the second X running at the same time as yours at the login screen (a second KDM instance probably), when you leave lock yours then press ctrl-alt-f8 to switch to the guest.
