scheduling thread gives error

Hi

I am writing multi-threaded application on linux. I need to set the thead scheduling policy to SCHED_FIFO, when i try to set up policy as part of thread creation (passing attr in pthread_create call), i get error. It complains that my process does not hav superuser privileges.

How do i set super user priveleges for the process before i set up scheduling policy for threads

thanks
