Saving a text file as a variable and reading it every second in java script

I have a text file that is dynamically generated every second. I need to be able to read this text file every second and save the text file as a variable. I need to be able to do this in Java script. Can anybody help me as to how this would be done?

Is there any particular formula for which the file names are decided?

IE. At 80 seconds, does the file name have an 80 in it?
