Regarding printk

hi!!!
I have a doubt regarding printk. Can we use printk in interrupts? if not why? If you are not supposed to use the printk, Is there any other routine used to display messages from interrupt context? Any method to debug interrupt service routine?
if anyone knows please reply me.
Bye,
Eshwar.
