reading values for a background process
 
dudes!!

in need of a favor

how to read values for a back ground process??

viz. wud like to have a ftp script runnin constanly in the background and i dun want to embed the user name and password in the file. wud like the values to b read from the user. I do not want command line args coz a ps -ef wud list the process with its parameters - in dis case my passwd wud also b listed.
