Python, Glade, using number keys to press button

I have created a Glade menu to run with a Python program. I can press a number key to correspond with each menu item.

I would like to use this to control / access / use a shell script I created. I believe I should use
subprocess("foo.sh") but beyond that I'm not sure.
It doesn't find the script should I statically list it's position "/usr/bin/foo.sh"
It also seems to be looking for /bin/sh can I specify /bin/bash?
