programming projects to join

Man, I wish there was a site or forum with nothing but projects. Someone suggested Google's summer of code but that's all Microsoft or nothing that would interest me or suit my skill set. I looked into sourceforge.net and didn't like the way they do it.

I was thinking more like a team of 2 or more that keeps in contact and communicates on a regular basis. Each having their own task.

I did see some projects on places like daniweb or similar forums but everything was mostly out of date or not interesting enough.

I like working with GTK UI programming, sockets, C, Linux, bash, awk, etc. What I see is alot of projects are aimed towards web developement, Microsoft, etc.

Sometimes I get tired of coding 6, 7 or 8 days straight and need a break and being able to hand it off to a partner would be awesome! It is a hardcore hobby of mine but sometimes doing it alone gets boring!

Hi amboxer,

we are doing not just for fun, but free and without any pressure a Universal Help.
There is plenty of things you can code for that.

Essentially it is a distributed database delivering in real time solutions the user is right nw stuck to.

One part of it is the project CrowdTranslate.
When working with any DE app, you can chosse a context menu, which gives you the possiblity to suggest a better translation and rate the given one.
The server collects all translations and ratings and compiles a better translation.

With that set up and working all translations of openSource will be faster and better.

Overall w are trying to fill the gap between very fast development cycles and the knowledge user actually have.

(Right now we are setting up a new workhorse server and website/wiki etc. are down)
Or install mumble and connect to our server openmafia.org

Have you looked into github?

@Uhelp, the post was actually aimed at feedback on up-to-date project sites but thanks for the offer. What languages(s) are your program made up of? How many people are apart of this already? Can you give me the details?!

@sysfce2, No I have not. Thank you I will check it out.

I have to take care of this udev thing I have going on first though or else it will bug me!
