porting win code

hi
I am trying to port some windoze code C++ to linux.
Here is an error I get:

/home/flavio/c/sdl01/src/raytracer.h:59: error: syntax error before `*' token

and line 59 contains:

Code:
Primitive** m_LastRow;
what is the g++ equivalent of ** ?

or is there a smart workaround?

thanks alot

Primitive is just a base class some guy wrote that is either derived by a sphere or plane class. this is needed for ray tracing.
If you are interested in ray tracing, then check out this:
http://www.flipcode.com/articles/art...ytrace01.shtml

the problem is, the guy wrote this on a windoze box. anyone seen a os-independent ray tracing tut?

ray tracing is one of the best things I've ever heard of. It is still slow now, on most pc's but in a few years, this will perhaps be the way how pictures are rendered and games programmed!

perhaps its just that I haven't included the header where Primitive is declared... dumb me

but thanks anyway

Your right. The problem is not the ** but the Primitive, which seems to be a class written on a specific OS or platform. There must be a cross-platform ray-tracing toolkit somewhere.

PS> even if you include the header file for the class, even then the code might not work because the header file may be using platform specific code.
