Port Static Library from linux to windows?

Hi, I'm trying to port some code from linux to win32 and winCE. I can compile the code using Dev-CPP and mingw on windows, but when I try to run things in Visual Studio (which I need to do for various reasons) I have problems linking... Now when I compile the linux code I am getting linux static libraries (.a files) and I need a simple method to convert them to lib/dlls. Does anyone know if this is possible of if I'll have to rebuild everything from scratch in Visual Studio?

It depends on the code. Written in a portable way should compile nicely with probably just a change or two in the makefile. Simply converting will not work in huge majority of cases. What you need to to is to make it all link. I don't know how many errors you get, but try to get through the first ones and check how you can fix them. If you can provide us with an example or two of such errors, it would be easier to estimate how much work is needed.
