PIC18F4520 and TinyBootloader in Piklab
Hi all.
firstly, this is not strictly linux, althoug i do want to get something working UNDER linux... anyway, does anyone out there have any experience with TinyBootloader (Tinybld) on a PIC18F4520? i would like to download code to it through piklab, which seems all happy and nice, but when i try programming it times out, waiting for a response from the pic. i have diagnosed the problem as being the PIC's serial port - it doesnt recieve or send anything, but the rest of the circuit pings stuff fine if i short the Rx,Tx wires. any suggestions? also, i want to run the windows Tinybld downloader software through wine, but it complains that it cant connect to either the serial port or the pic.

ps. are there any good linux distros that will run on a PIC 18F?
pps. please dont have a go at me for posting this on a linux only forum, it is kind of linux related, but it yes, it IS centered around the pic. bring on the lectures...
