phpgd help required urgent

hello everyone this is himanshu
this the first time i am using php gd .
i am wrking on rhel 4.0 server edition i need to draw graphs and piecharts according to data in the database but i not able to generate images .i have the function lists but ther eis some problem in the gd library .plz tell me which library files i have to install on my os and how to use it
plz its urgent.

Is the gd library compiled into your version of php? You can check this my calling the ever handy phpinfo() function. Does the GD library appear, you should get something like this:
