Does Any One Know about a good PHP editor?

acid_kewpie 11-26-2004 05:57 AM

You can use any text editor to edit PHP files. Kate is quite good and has syntax highlighting in KDE. You can keep multiple documents open in a single window (using tabbed mode or file list mode) and it is very convenient when you are working on a project with a large number of PHP files.

seesharp 11-29-2004 06:45 AM

can't it be configured to highlight PHP code and show PHP funtions??
I did't find out by looikng at their site but it does'nt seem to be hard since it's open source!!!

vharishankar 11-29-2004 06:51 AM

SeeSharp, look at my post above. Both Kate and Kwrite have syntax highlighting for PHP scripting.

I know Harish BUT
they don't show the function prototype when you write the function.
they don't show list of functions beginning with a if you type a and then press CTRL + Space.

How about quanta. I am not much of a developer, but it's the nearest thing to dreamwever for linux in my opinion.

seesharp 11-29-2004 07:06 AM

It Helps a lot reddazz.
thank you.

vharishankar 11-29-2004 07:08 AM
