Perl question (Facebook::Graph API)

Hey everyone. I need some help with Facebook's graph API. I have a project in mind but have no idea where to start. The whole subject is a bit overwhelming! Just recently, a friend convinced me to learn Perl. Considering the task I am trying to accomplish, it seemed necessary anyway. I want to download my entire photostream from facebook.

I have all the necessary software installed to start but just do not know where to start. For instance, I have no idea what a postback URL is. Do I need to setup a Facebook app in order to download my own stream? I did set one set up though. There is so much I want and need to know. Maybe there is an extensive tutorial on this subject???

Thanks!

If you want to download your whole photostream and that's the only reason you're attempting this then someone has already done it. Check out the PhotoGrabber project which is designed to download your whole photostream (pull from svn for Linux).

As for the rest of your question I can't really help you because I don't make facebook apps and don't plan to. Perhaps someone else can fill you in there.

I would rather write it on my own. I wrote it in bash but it was pointed out to me that it should be done in a language that has a facebook API like Perl or Java. I guess I will just have to keep reading and at some point I will stumle on the right documentation.

Perl isn't the problem, it the extensive face API documentation. It's a tad overwhelming. IMO, is also a bit ambiguous in some spots. I'll keep reading though and if someone has some info they'd like to share, I would appreciate it. Thanks sag47.
