PAM compilation problem

Hi

I'm writing my own PAM, but I can't compile it. gcc doesn't recognize pam_get_user() and other functions. I copied the neccesary includes into the includes folder of my linux, but i'm still missing the nessecary libs, i guess. I downloaded libpam, but don't know where to put all that stuff. Can anyone help?

What is your distro? solaris? or linux? Better to try distro's PAM.

If it is linux,
If you brave enought to try source compile, Be careful!
Worst case, you can't login.(then use this: http://freshmeat.net/projects/recoveryispossible/ )

I have Mandriva2006.
And my problem evolved...
I downloaded and compiled libpam (but only make, not make install). I also installed Python (cause my PAM will use Python scripts), but... I still can't compile my module or any other test application using i.e. pam_get_user() form PAM or Py_Initialize() from Python/C API. I gave the compiler the proper includes, but don't know how to give him the libs.
I found the libpython2.4.a but when I pass it to gcc with -L/path_to_this_file/ it doesn't help, some functions are still undefined references...
And I can't even find any lib files for the PAM stuff, there are no *.a or even *.o files in the libpam after make.
Ech...
