OpenGL/GLUT... moving on?

Hey everyone...

I've worked with OpenGL (utilizing the GLUT libraries) in C/C++ for ages now. I keep reading complaints here and there about that combination for doing 3D programming.

I wanted to query everyone out there as to what combos I should look at and, if available, places where there is documentation and/or tutorials on the syntax.

Thanks.

Not an advanced programmer myself but perhaps if you wanted to branch out you could look at SDL? SDL is somewhat similar to DirectX for Windows in that it does video, audio, network and maybe more.

I'll give SDL a shot.
If anyone has any other suggestions... post away!
