Programming This forum is for all programming questions.
The question does not have to be directly related to Linux and any language is fair game.

Ok, a suggestion to programmers.

I do a little programming, so I'm pretty sure this can be done with just about any language. (I'm not good enough to do it myself.) I am currently trying out three different browsers: Mozilla, Galeon and Lynx, all in Linux. If I get to an interesting site in one browser, and bookmark the site, obviously the bookmark is not available in the other two, until I export then import the list. Can a script or program be written that can run at bootup that will update all the bookmark files in the browsers? (Even if I settle on Mozilla or Galeon, I will stll use Lynx, or perhaps some other text-only browser.) Perhaps it could create a bookmark file that all will access...

Of couse, the program could be written
Looks like the best idea to make a simple Perl script, combining all this stuff together.
You could see the script for parsing galeon bookmarks
http://lists.ximian.com/archives/pub...ry/003507.html
Here some scripts for netscape bookmarks parsing (most of them in Perl):
http://www.totalscripts.com/pages/Pe...ipts/Bookmark/
And lynx bookmarks are in very simple html format, so it should not be a lot of problems there...
Just combine all this stuff together, or ask someone
Best Regards,
Oleg.
