IMO the best way to get started is to take a class, that way it forces you to do the homework and read a book along with the guidance of an instructor.

If your good at learning on your own just pick up a c++ book. Usually they go through the basics all the way to intermediate. If you find a good coding community usually they would be able to help you when you get stuck or cant figure out something.

There are tutorials online too if you wanna go the super cheep route, but beware sometimes they are not near the quality of a good book.

A quick Google and I find:
http://www.cprogramming.com/tutorial.html#c++tutorial
looks fairly decent along with a quiz.

Be prepared for a lot of reading.

Good luck! Coding is fun!

A great book to learn from is "Accelerated C++" by Koenig and Moo.

I would suggest first getting your feet wet with plain old C.

You will learn the basics of coding.

Once you are comfortable with C ... you can then learn C++.
C++ is the object oriented variant of C.
C++ is structured on C ... but then adds further capabilities that C lacked or were not easily to perform in C.

I will warn you ... OO Programing languages will seem very confusing if you do not have a leg to stand on.

It doesn't help that much if you learn C before C++,
