netbeans, safe or spy?

Hey all,
Okay, the parano-me is at it again. I just installed NetBeans and, yea, wow is the word. I use BlueFish and the project gets a little...fragmented to be honest...eh, it is a biggie after all
So, I also fired up iftop and saw the word (servername) "netbeans"...
Any opinions on NetBeans?
Source safe or source spy?
Just a question
Thor

Here's what its users think about it:

http://netbeans.dzone.com/five-favor...beans-features

And here are the top 10 features according to its users:

http://jaxenter.com/the-top-10-netbe...rs-107988.html

James Gosling, founder of Java, uses NetBeans, while very large mission critical work at NASA, Boeing, and NATO (among many many many others) is done with (and on) NetBeans.

So, yeah, good choice.

So it's connecting to the site that's used for updates and plugin installations?

I'd be comfortable with that.

And: you might want to check for an option to turn that off, if you don't like it.

Wow, this is great
All that is left to do is tinker out how to get the thing to make new PHP pages...still need to figure this out . It keeps adding "html" as an extention LOL
Gosling's baby got me into the more serious kinda programming, before that, I was resignd to ... visual basic eew...
Thanks for the input
Thor
Edit just use a general type file and append the "php" yerself

@ NevemTeve
Hehe, dont worry... any thoughs on this are welcome.
@ everyone readint this: an IDE can limit your options, using some combo as Bluefish and Filezilla and a simple FTP/HTTP server can greatly simplify matters
But...that's just me...again...
