Need help/advice blending ppd and postscript processing script
I have some old postscript code that I'm trying to marry with a special PPD I did. The code takes postscript and converts it to hpgl commands used for vinyl cutters/engravers/routers/plotters etc. I have edited the script so it functions with my engravers. It is old code ps1 I think so it will probably need some updating. My main goal is to use a ppd with cups for an engraver install using the edited ppd to do what the ps2hpgl postscript code does, taking the ppd variables for xy-speed etc and placing the variable in the hpgl files, then outputting the finished hpgl code to the engraver the ppd was using.
Tested with postscript sent to script "plot"
I've tested it with coreldraw9 (wine) "print to postscript device only" works great except can't seem to get rgb color output only cmyk so pen selection won't work.
Tested with inkscape .ps file get part way though with pen selection working and crashes.
Tested with OOdraw and pen selection works but dosen't seem to finish as in getting a string added to the end of the file as commented in ps2hpgl script.
If this could be developed it would certainly help in a small way filling the gap in cups for output to hpgl devices with control for speeds, "z" axis depths,blade-pressure etc. The ppd I did has the features but I have no idea how to create variables in the ppd and pass it along to the ps2hpgl script and have it plug in the selected values. This is probably a big project so I'd be willing to pay some cash for time spent.
Please contact me if your interested in tackling this project!
Thanks
