nautilus scripting - shh-tc.ksh

hi,
# i wish this would use a gdialog progress bar rather
an infobox so that it would be easier to determine its current status.
# transcode prints out current frame and current movie time but i would like to determine what the projected file size will be so that it can calculate when it is done.
Code:
        #!/bin/bash

        # shh-tc-v0.1.ksh
        # transcodes selected file or contents of directory to a 750 kb
        bitrate xvid avi file
        # depends: transcode, gdialog
        # this software can be distributed or modified as needed -
        season to taste.
        # schneidz
        # 12.05.2006

        pwd=`echo $NAUTILUS_SCRIPT_CURRENT_URI | sed 's/file\:\/\///'`
        cd $pwd

        gdialog --infobox "starting transcode $1" 200 200

        transcode -y xvid,xvid -F mpeg4 -M 2 -N 0x55 -s 3 -w 750,75,90
        -b 64 -B 12,10,8 -i $1 -o $1.avi

        gdialog --infobox "transcode complete - $1.avi" 200 200

i am wondering if there are gdialog examples that i can base a script off of.

i am looking for a gauge that i can update the surrounding text.

like when copying or moving multiple files a pop-up comes up and updates based on the filename that it is currently working on.

anyone know where i can get something like that ?

thanks,
schneidz
