Mobile phone programming using Linux


Hi,
I am trying to work on mobile phone programming in Linux platform using C language. Can somebody guide with this? I tried to search the web but I didnt get appropriate site.

Also guide me about the mobile phones compliant with linux platform for programming using C language.

Hi, zak100 -

You've actually got things backwards. In general, you should pick the mobile phone platform you want to develop for FIRST. Which language to use depends largely on which mobile phone you program for. Most iPhone apps, for example, are written in Objective C. Android prefers Java. And Nokia is pushing Qt/C++.

If you're not sure, probably your best bet is to download the Android SDK and experiment with it. In Java.

Thanks. This is very good information. First I have to think of mobile phone. I know about java. But I dont know whether Qt/C++ & Objective C compiler's available for Linux??

Yes, they are - look up 'gcc' and visit Qt official website.
